LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONVEYS CONDOLENCES ON THE PASSING OF THE POLISH POLITICIAN TADEUSZ MAZOWIECKI

On 28 October, the Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Linas Linkevičius sent a letter expressing his condolences to the Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski over the passing of Tadeusz Mazowiecki, the Polish politician, a leader of the Solidarity movement, and former Prime Minister of Poland (1989-1991).

“Let me convey my deepest condolences for the loss of one of the greatest friends of Lithuania, Mr. Tadeusz Mazowiecki. Lithuania highly appreciates the contribution of Mr. Mazowiecki to strengthening cooperation and partnership between our countries and his prominent support extended to Lithuania on the way towards Independence,” the letter reads.
