LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATES ON SUCCESSFUL EU REFERENDUM RESULTS

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis continuing his visit in New York congratulated the people of Lithuania with a positive outcome of the referendum on Lithuania's membership in the European Union. The results of the referendum show that the Lithuanian people are not indifferent to the future of their own, their children, family and their state. Having cast their vote for the EU membership they proved that they see themselves, their family, and Lithuania in a wider context of Europe and the world, according to Minister Valionis. The referendum on Lithuania's membership in the EU is the key stage of solidifying Lithuanian statehood, incarnating the strategic choice of the country to follow the path of Euro-Atlantic integration, the chief of Lithuanian diplomacy stated.
