Lithuanian Foreign Minister congratulates Brazil’s new Foreign Minister on assuming office
On 7 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulated Brazil’s new Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes on assuming office.
In his letter of congratulations, the head of Lithuania’s diplomacy recalled his visit to Brazil in 2015, during which Linkevičius met with the then Senator in the Upper House of the National Congress of Brazil Aloysio Nunes. Lithuania’s Foreign Minister welcomed friendly relations and invited his Brazilian counterpart to visit Lithuania.
Lithuania and Brazil established their diplomatic relations in 1931 and re-established them on 5 November 1991. Lithuania opened its Consulate General in São Paulo in 2013. The Consul General Laura Guobužaitė heads the Consulate General in São Paulo.
