LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATED HIS POLISH COUNTERPART ON THE OCCASION OF STATE ANNIVERSARY

On 11 November, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas sent a letter of congratulation to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski on the occasion of 90th Anniversary of Restoration of the Republic of Poland.

Minister P.Vaitiekūnas noted the necessity to continue the development of Lithuanian-Polish strategic partnership, based on common historical experience and closer bilateral political, economic and cultural relations. Furthermore, according to Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, the membership of the two countries in transatlantic structures provides opportunities for further development of bilateral relations and the promotion of democracy in the EU's Eastern neighbourhood.

“I believe that together we can solve the issues concerning not only the fate of Lithuania and Poland, but also concerning the development of democracy in our neighbourhood”, Minister P.Vaitiekūnas noted in his letter of congratulation.
