LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONGRATULATED HIS NEW GERMAN COUNTERPART

On 23 November Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Antanas Valionis extended congratulations to Frank-Walter Steinmeier on his appointment as Germany’s Foreign Minister.
In the letter of congratulations Minister Valionis says that Lithuania hopes for further strengthening of Lithuanian-German relations in political, economic and other spheres.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister directed attention to the importance of the European Union’s neighbourhood policy and offered Germany to take more active part in the cooperation of Baltic and Nordic states in the Baltic Sea region.
Minister Valionis also invited Minister Steinmeier to visit Lithuania.
