LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER CONFERRED THE STAR OF LITHUANIAN DIPLOMACY ON A DANISH INDUSTRIALIST

On 28 August in Copenhagen, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis conferred the “Star of Lithuanian Diplomacy” on Vice-President of the Baltic Development Forum and former long-term CEO of Confederation of Danish Industry Hans Skov Christensen for the promotion of the Baltic-Nordic cooperation.

Headed by H.S.Christensen, the Confederation actively supported membership of the Baltic States in EU, promoted business integration in the Baltic-Nordic countries and supported the establishment of business organizations, and their development in the Baltic countries.

H.S.Christensen contributed a lot to the organization of the annual conference of the Baltic Development Forum, the so-called Baltic Davos, in Vilnius in 2010.

The conference that is yearly organized in one of the Baltic Sea Region states brought together about 500 participants to Lithuania from eleven Baltic Sea states: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Germany, Poland and Russia.

A.Ažubalis together with Latvian and Estonian Foreign Ministers Girts Valdis Kristovskis and Urmas Paet are paying a visit to Copenhagen, and taking part in the events marking the Independence of the Baltic States and the 20th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations with Denmark.
