LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ATTENDS THE ANNUAL TREATY EVENT OF THE UNITED NATIONS
On 26 September in New York, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis attended the annual Treaty Event of the United Nations, hosted by the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
During the ceremony, Ažubalis deposited with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon the following documents: Declaration by Lithuania recognizing as compulsory the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice under Article 36, paragraph 2, of the Statute of the Court; Optional Protocol to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes (accession by Lithuania); Optional Protocol to the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes (accession by Lithuania); and Protocol on the Privileges and Immunities of the International Seabed Authority (accession by Lithuania).
