LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER AND THE ADJUTANT GENERAL OF THE U.S. PENNSYLVANIA NATIONAL GUARD DISCUSS BILATERAL COOPERATION
On 21 June, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis met with Major General Wesley Craig, the Adjutant General of Pennsylvania National Guard and thanked him for cooperation in Afghanistan.Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Evaldas Ignatavičius, who also participated in the meeting, thanked the U.S. for active participation in the NATO air police mission in the Baltic States.
The Vice-Minister stressed the importance of cooperation between Lithuania and Pennsylvania National Guard in training Afghan police forces in the province of Ghor.The head of the Vilnius-based Energy Security Centre Audrius Brūzga acquainted W.Craig with the centre’s activities and noted that his institution aimed to become a NATO centre of excellence. Thus, Lithuania would contribute to the building of the Alliance’s capacity to combat emerging threats.
