LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER AND MOLDOVA’S AMBASSADOR DISCUSSED RESULTS OF PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS

On 29 November, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Audronius Ažubalis met with Moldova’s new Ambassador to Lithuania Igor Klipii, who acquainted head of Lithuania’s diplomacy with results of Parliamentary Elections that were held in Moldova on 28 November.

The meeting also focused on the issues of Lithuania’s chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2011, among them – possibilities to solve the protracted conflict in Transnistria. Minister A.Ažubalis affirmed Lithuania’s support for Moldova’s reforms aimed at European integration.

The Ambassador of Moldova noted that his activities would especially focus on the promotion of economic cooperation between Lithuania and Moldova.

I.Klipii is the second Ambassador of Moldova, who resides in Lithuania. The Ambassador presented his credentials to President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė in August. In 2006, the Embassy of Moldova was established in Vilnius.
