Lithuanian Foreign Minister and Japanese representatives highlight an ultra-dynamic development of relations

On 10 July in Vilnius, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius and the Chairman of the Japan-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Association Hirofumi Nakasone especially positively evaluated the development of bilateral relations, discussed ways to further advance the political, economic, cultural and scientific ties.

In Vilnius, the delegation of Japan was acquainted with Lithuania’s integration in European energy market. L.Linkevičius thanked Japan for its support for Lithuania’s goal of joining the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The Lithuanian Foreign Minister and H.Nakasone both underlined the increased economic cooperation between Lithuania and Japan – Lithuanian exports to the Land of the Rising Sun grew by 30% last year and the Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce opened in Tokyo in March.

The Japan-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Association was founded in 1996. H.Nakasone has been the Chairman of the Japan-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Association since 2003.
