LITHUANIAN FOREIGN MINISTER ACQUAINTED EU SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE WITH LITHUANIA’S POSITION ON CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN TRANSNISTRIA
Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis acquainted European Union’s Special Representative for the Republic of Moldova Kálmán Mizsei with the future priorities of Lithuania’s chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) in 2011 and aspirations regarding the process of conflict resolution in Transnistria. K.Mizsei paid a visit to Vilnius on 11 November.
Minister A.Ažubalis stressed the necessity to increase the EU’s contribution and role in conflict resolution in Transnistria.During the conversation, current issues of Moldova’s internal policy and the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Moldova were also discussed.
The visit of the EU’s Special Representative to Vilnius is dedicated to Lithuania’s upcoming chairmanship of the OSCE and to the discussion of joint activities in resolving Transnistrian conflict with the incoming OSCE Chair-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister.
