LITHUANIAN EU COUNCIL PRESIDENCY’S FOREIGN MINISTER CONVEYS CONDOLENCES ON THE TRAGIC TRAIN ACCIDENT IN SPAIN

On 25 July, Lithuanian EU Council Presidency’s Foreign Minister Linas Linkevičius extended condolences to Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation José Manuel García-Margallo on the tragic train crash in the region of Galicia that claimed many lives.

Linkevičius conveyed his condolences to victims and their families, and stressed that his thoughts and prayers were with the people of Spain in this difficult time.

The crash occurred in the northern Spanish region of Galicia on 24 July, near the city of Santiago de Compostela. The train was travelling from Madrid to Ferrol.
