LITHUANIAN DIPLOMAT IS AWARDED A MERITUL CIVIC MEDAL FOR ASSISTANCE TO MOLDOVA, SEEKING FOR EURO-INTEGRATION

On 15 January, Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin conferred to Ambassador-at-Large Kęstutis Jankauskas the Meritul Civic medal for merits assisting Moldova to implement its Euro-integration reforms. In 2008, Ambassador-at-Large K.Jankauskas paid regular visits to Kishinev and shared Lithuania’s integration experience with Moldovan officials. This support was useful to Moldova, which is implementing the EU-Moldova Action plan.
In compliance with the memorandum for Euro-integration partnership, which was signed between Lithuania and Moldova in March 2007, Lithuania has obligations to take all possible means in order to speed up the internal reforms and to assist Moldova during its Euro-integration process.
