On 23 March, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Lithuania at the World Trade Organisation (WTO) Raimundas Karoblis was elected Chairman of WTO Customs Valuation Committee at the sitting of WTO Council for Trade in Goods in Geneva.
During the chairmanship at the committee, Lithuania's attention will be focused on the negotiations of possible specification of WTO Customs Valuation Agreement due to its implementation difficulties by some countries.
The election of Raimundas Karoblis as Chairman of the committee is an unprecedented event, as he represents a country that joined the WTO less than a year ago.
