Lithuanian Days kick off in Odessa
On 14 June in Odessa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, the Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs Margot Wallström, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin, the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration Maxim Stepanov and the Mayor of Odessa Gennadiy Trukhanov opened Lithuanian Days. The event will take place over the weekend.
The Foreign Ministers congratulated the people of Odessa and Ukraine on the entry into force of the visa-free regime and called on them to take advantage of new opportunities.
Linkevičius noted that the Lithuanian Days were taking place in Odessa for the third year in a row. This reflects especially friendly and strong relations between Lithuania and Ukraine.
Every year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the Embassy of Lithuania to Ukraine traditionally organize the Lithuanian Days in various regions of Ukraine to present Lithuanian businesses, culture, traditional arts and crafts, cuisine, tourism and studies opportunities. This year, the Lithuanian Days also took place in Kharkiv. The event was opened by the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė.
