On 29 July, Lithuanian Foreign Vice-Minister Justas Vincas Paleckis received a delegation of Chinese Parliamentarians led by Vice-Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Uyunqimg.
At the meeting, the participants rejoiced over the dynamic development of bilateral relations, discussed the scope of interparliamentary cooperation, stressed the importance of intensifying economic relations between Lithuania and China.
The Lithuanian side forwarded a proposal to the Chinese Parliamentarians to use the Klaipėda seaport for transit of goods exported from China to Europe.
The delegations also discussed cooperation in the fields of culture, education and tourism as well as topical international issues, bilateral cooperation at international organisations and cooperation with the neighbouring countries.
The Chinese-Lithuanian cooperation is intensive on various levels. In January this year, political consultations between both countries’ ministerial delegations took place in China. In February, the delegation from the Chinese Foreign Trade and Economic Development Ministry visited Vilnius.
