On 18 October, annual political consultations between the Lithuanian and Chinese Ministries of Foreign Affairs (MFA) took place in Vilnius.
Lithuanian MFA Undersecretary Dalius Čekuolis and Chinese Foreign Vice Minister Zhang Yesui headed the delegations.
At the consultations, opinions on cooperation in international organisations and prospects of development of bilateral relations after Lithuania’s accession to the European Union (EU) as well as the successfully developing EU-Chinese relations were addressed.
The diplomats discussed the possibility to solemnly commemorate the 15th anniversary of establishment of Lithuanian-Chinese diplomatic relations in September 2006 and to exchange visits of top-ranking officials in the nearest future.
On 19 October, the Chinese delegation will go to Riga to continue its visit in the three Baltic States.
