LITHUANIAN-CHINESE COOPERATION COMMISSION SESSION TAKES PLACE IN BEIJING

On 22 April, a session of the Lithuanian-Chinese Economic Cooperation Commission took place at the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, with participation of Undersecretary of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Darius Jurgelevičius. The Chinese delegation was headed by Deputy Director of the European Affairs Department of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce Wu Mingxin. During the consultations, the Lithuanian economic situation was presented, tendencies of the Lithuanian-Chinese economic cooperation were discussed as well as possibilities to export Lithuanian agricultural products. During the meeting, it was agreed to strengthen cooperation between the countries’ customs, veterinary and financial crime investigation services, pharmacy enterprises and tourism organisers. The Lithuanian officials announced that this October the Association International Chamber of Commerce Lietuva planed to carry out Lithuania’s business mission to China, which would visit the largest China’s exhibition of export commodities in Guangzhou (Canton) city in Southern China. In Beijing, Darius Jurgelevičius also met with Assistant to the Chinese Foreign Minister Li Jinzhang and discussed the development of the bilateral relations as well as results of the Lithuanian-Chinese Economic Cooperation Commission session.
