Lithuanian and Romanian Foreign Ministers discuss closer cooperation

In the margins of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting on 9 February in Brussels, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs of Linas Linkevičius met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania Bogdan Lucian Aurescu to discuss prospects of  closer bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation.

EU – Russia relations, the situation in Ukraine and  in Moldova after the elections, Eastern Partnership  and the Riga Summit on Eastern Partnership in May were the main topics of the meeting. The Ministers agreed to coordinate their activities to achieve the best and concrete results at the Riga Summit. The cooperation within NATO and implementation of the Wales Summit decisions were discussed in search of the regional security.

The Romanian Foreign Minister invited Minister L.Linkevičius to pay an official visit to Bucharest to continue the discussion.
