LITHUANIAN AND INDIAN FOREIGN MINISTERS SIGN A VISA WAIVER AGREEMENT FOR HOLDERS OF DIPLOMATIC PASSPORTS

On 10 November, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, who is attending the Asia–Europe Meeting (ASEM) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, met with Indian External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid. The meeting discussed bilateral cooperation and important international affairs issues. Lithuanian Foreign Minister L.Linkevičius thanked India for its support to Lithuania’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and called for closer cooperation to ensure world peace and stability.

Lithuanian and Indian Foreign Ministers signed a visa waiver agreement for holders of diplomatic passports.

The head of the Lithuanian diplomacy also presented issues related to Lithuania’s Presidency of the EU Council and called on India to complete its current free trade talks with the EU as soon as possible.

In New Delhi, the Minister L.Linkevičius will also open the Lithuania-India business seminar and give a speech at Jawaharlal Nehru University.
