Lithuanian Ambassador presents letters of credence to the President of Ukraine
On 26 May, Ambassador of Lithuania to Ukraine Marius Janukonis presented his letters of credence to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
The Ambassador expressed his appreciation of the partnership between the countries and warm, friendly relations between the nations, which showed in every way.
“Lithuania will continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” said Janukonis. According to the ambassador, Ukraine has all possibilities to become a success story in Europe and Lithuania will continue to actively support Ukraine’s path to EU integration.
During the ceremony, the President of Ukraine thanked the leadership of Lithuania for its exceptionally consistent, moral position on the illegal annexation of Crimea and Russian aggression against Ukraine. He also highlighted Lithuania’s contribution to the shaping of the common EU position on Ukraine, as well as to providing humanitarian and economic assistance, and expert support to Ukraine.
