LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTS LETTERS OF CREDENCE TO THE EMPEROR OF JAPAN

On 14 December, the new Ambassador of Lithuania to Japan Egidijus Meilūnas presented his letters of credence to the Emperor of Japan Akihito.

Meilūnas is the third Lithuanian Ambassador to Japan after the restoration of Lithuania’s independence.

Their Imperial Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan paid an official visit to Lithuania in 2007.

Lithuania and Japan re-established diplomatic relations in October 1991.
