Lithuanian Ambassador presents letters of credence to President of Portugal

On 20 May in Lisbon, Ambassador of Lithuania to the United Kingdom Asta Skaisgirytė presented her letters of credence to the President of Portugal Aníbal António Cavaco Silva.
During the meeting, the Ambassador thanked the President of Portugal for the contribution of the Portuguese Air Force to NATO Baltic air policing mission the Baltic States. Since 2004 the Portuguese fighter jets have been deployed in Lithuania twice with the most recent rotation ending in autumn 2014.
During the visit, the diplomat also met with the Lithuanian community in Portugal, representatives of the Government and of foreign diplomatic missions in Portugal.
