Lithuanian Ambassador presents his letters of credence to Turkish President
On 17 June, Ambassador of Lithuania to Turkey Audrius Brūzga presented his letters of credence to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Following the ceremony, the officials held a meeting to discuss issues related to bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
According to the Turkish President, Turkey is willing to increase the volume of bilateral trade between Lithuania and Turkey, to promote cultural exchange and cooperation in the field of defence. Turkey is also well aware of Lithuania’s fears over the security situation in the region.
Brūzga reiterated the invitation of President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė to Erdoğan to pay an official visit to Lithuania. The Turkish President responded that he wished to visit Lithuania in the short run.
