On 30 September in Zagreb, Lithuania’s ambassador to Croatia Lina Gubrevičiūtė presented her credentials to the President of Croatia Zoran Milanović.
During a meeting following the ceremony, the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations between Lithuania and Croatia and opportunities for their further development, emphasizing the need to strengthen cooperation in the areas of security and defense, as well as to expand bilateral political and economic ties, particularly in the defense industry, biotechnology, and life sciences.
The Ambassador thanked the President for Croatia’s consistent contribution to strengthening the security of Lithuania and the entire Baltic region.
“Lithuania and Croatia are like-minded partners in the EU and allies in NATO. We greatly appreciate the participation of Croatian troops in the Multinational Battlegroup in Rukla. Lithuania and Croatia face the same security challenges, and our shared assessment of threats and standing together only strengthens our collective resolve to act,” the Ambassador stated.
The meeting also addressed the security situation in the region, issues related to support for Ukraine, and the priorities of Lithuania’s upcoming presidency of the Council of the EU.
Lina Gubrevičiūtė is the third Lithuanian ambassador residing in Croatia. The Lithuanian Embassy in Croatia was established in 2018; the diplomatic mission is also accredited to Montenegro, Kosovo, and North Macedonia.
