LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF TURKEY
On 12 June Lithuanian Ambassador to Turkey Darius Pranckevičius presented credentials to the President of Turkey Ahmet Necdet Sezer. During the conversation with Turkish President Ambassador D. Pranckevičius welcomed the diversification of Lithuanian-Turkish cooperation that embraces more and more areas. Political dialogue and economic relations are enriched with cultural cooperation, tourism, student and youth exchange, providing firm basis for communication between the nations.
D. Pranckevičius also emphasised that Lithuania and Turkey are NATO Allies contributing to European security. Participation of Turkish military air forces in the Baltic Air Policing Mission last year is an excellent example of this cooperation.
President A. N. Sezer recalled official Lithuanian President’s Valdas Adamkus’ visit to Turkey last year and thanked for Lithuania’s support to Turkey’s EU membership aspirations expressed by Lithuanian President.
Ambassador D. Pranckevičius is the third Lithuanian Ambassador to Turkey.
