LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
On April 15, Lithuanian Ambassador Dainius Ginutis Voveris presented credentials to President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the conversation with the President, Ambassador D.G.Voveris conveyed best respects from President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus. Ambassador expressed trust that his appointment would contribute to the development of closer bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan indicated that the United Arab Emirates were open for all friendly countries and conveyed best respects for the President of Lithuania.
During the visit, in Abu Dhaby and Dubai, Ambassador D.G.Voveris met with members of Parliament, representatives from governmental institutions and businesses.
Lithuanian Ambassador D.G.Voveris, who resides in Egypt, is the first Lithuanian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
Lithuania and the United Arab Emirates established diplomatic relations on 16 October, 1992.
