LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LEBANON

On 6 November Lithuanian ambassador Dainius Ginutis Voveris presented credentials to President of the Republic of Lebanon Emile Jamil Lahoud. Ambassador D.G.Voveris conveyed to the President of Lebanon compliments of President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus and wished peace as well as prosperity to the people of Lebanon. President of Lebanon E.J.Lahoud   welcomed the Lithuanian Ambassador and expressed his conviction that the appointment of the Lithuanian Ambassador would strengthen the cooperation between Lithuania and Lebanon in various areas.

In Beirut Ambassador D.G.Voveris was also received by Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora, Speaker of Lebanon's parliament Nabih Berri and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fawzi Salloukh. The Ambassador also met with the leaders of the main business associations. During the conversations opportunities to develop mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

Ambassador D.G.Voveris resides in Cairo and is the first Lithuanian Ambassador to Lebanon.

Lithuania and Lebanon established diplomatic relations on 18 March 1993.
