LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF SOUTH KOREA
On 17 January, Lithuanian Ambassador Rokas Bernotas presented credentials to the President of South Korea Roh Moo-hyun.
During the ceremony, the President of South Korea Roh Moo-hyun emphasized that he knew about the fast growth of economy in our country and expressed hope that Lithuanian-Korean business ties would be intensified. Ambassador R.Bernotas briefly presented the accomplishments of our country and invited the heads of Korea to visit Lithuania.
During his visit to South Korea, R.Bernotas also met with Polish Ambassador Marek Calka, representatives of the European Department of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the heads of the European Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking about the possible cooperation areas for the two countries, the representatives of South Korea indicated that South Korea was one of the world’s leading nuclear energy producers.
Lithuanian Embassy to China is accredited to Mongolia, South Korea and Vietnam.
Lithuanian Ambassador R.Bernotas, residing in Beijing, is the third Lithuanian Ambassador to South Korea.
Lithuania and South Korea established diplomatic relations on 14 October, 1991.
