LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF IRAN

On 13 December Lithuanian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary  Vytautas Naudužas presented credentials to the President of Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmud Ahmadinezhad.

In the conversation with the President of Iran Ambassador Naudužas noted that after accession to the EU Lithuania takes active part in shaping of the common foreign policy of the EU, therefore its interests reach more remote regions. According to the Ambassador rapid growth of Lithuanian economy necessitates the search of new partners. The markets of Iran are perspective but unfamiliar for our country’s businessmen.

The President of Iran congratulated the first Lithuanian Ambassador accredited to Iran and expressed confidence that Iran would cooperate closer not only with Lithuania but with whole region of the Baltic Sea.

According to the President Ahmadinezhad Iran is open to dialogue and cooperation in all spheres. The President encouraged Lithuanian businessmen and artists to come to Iran and cooperate closely.
