LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE PRESIDENT OF ICELAND
On 16 June Lithuania’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark and to the Republic of Iceland Rasa Kairienė presented credentials to the President of Iceland Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson in Reykjavik.
During the conversation with the President good bilateral relations between Lithuania and Iceland, as well as Lithuania’s achievements after the restoration of independence were recognized and the issue of Lithuania’s image in Iceland was discussed.
During her visit in Iceland, Ambassador R.Kairienė met with officials from Iceland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lithuanian Honorary Consuls and business representatives.
During these meetings the perspectives of cooperation in the fields of security policy, economy and culture, also problems of Lithuanians living in Iceland and their potential solutions were discussed.
The Ambassador also took part in the festive events on the occasion of Iceland’s National Independence Day.
