LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE KING OF JORDAN

On 6 September in Amman Lithuanian Ambassador to Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Kuwait Dainius Voveris presented credentials to King of Jordan Abdulla Ibn Al Husseini.

The Ambassador was given the audience at the Royal Palace and extended cordial greetings and compliments to the people of Jordan in the name of Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus.

The King of Jordan welcomed the Lithuanian Ambassador with his accreditation to Jordan and expressed conviction that from that day on the relations between Jordan and Lithuania would become tighter in various areas, such as politics, economy, culture and education.

During the conversations with Heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Jordan, Minister of Industry and Trade, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Minister of Culture the mutual readiness for the development of cooperation between Lithuania and Jordan in various areas was expressed.

Ambassador D.Voveris is the first Lithuanian Ambassador to Jordan. He resides in Cairo.

Lithuania and Jordan established diplomatic relations on 5 July in 1994.
