LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE HEREDITARY PRINCE OF LIECHTENSTEIN

On 9 January Lithuanian Ambassador Giedrius Puodžiūnas residing in Austria presented credentials to Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein. In course of the conversation Prince Alois marked that Lithuania had made a great progress in a rather short period of time and became a member of the European Union and NATO. Hereditary Prince of Liechtenstein welcomed Lithuania’s achievements in economic sphere, showed interest in enlargement of the Schengen area and regional energy problems, and stressed the importance of development of economic and cultural cooperation between Lithuania and Liechtenstein.

During the visit Ambassador Puodžiūnas also met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein Rita Kieber-Beck and discussed the issues of regional cooperation, European energy policy, and prospects for the European Constitution. Possibilities to intensify bilateral economic relations using Liechtenstein’s experience of banking and information technologies were also considered.
