LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE GRAND DUKE OF LUXEMBOURG

On 2 October Lithuanian Ambassador Nijolė Žambaitė presented credentials to Grand Duke of Luxembourg Henri. The Grand Duke welcomed the Lithuanian Ambassador, who is accredited to Luxembourg, and said he was certain that Lithuania and Luxembourg would develop even closer bilateral relations in the future.

Ambassador N.Žambaitė was gratified by the productive cooperation between the Baltic States and the Benelux countries.

During the meeting bilateral economic cooperation, possibilities of investment promotion and perspectives of cooperation in the field of culture were also discussed.  

The Grand Duke of Luxembourg showed interest in Lithuania’s perspectives to adopt Euro and preparations of Vilnius to become the European Capital of Culture. This year Luxembourg is the European Capital of Culture. The Grand Duke also shared his pleasant memories about his visit in Vilnius.

Ambassador N.Žambaitė resides in Belgium and is the fourth Lithuanian Ambassador accredited to Luxembourg.

Lithuania and Luxembourg established diplomatic relations on 2 July 1992.
