LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO THE AUTHORITIES OF SAN MARINO

On 10 June, Lithuanian Ambassador Petras Zapolskas presented his credentials to the authorities of San Marino - Captains Regent Marco Conti and Glauco Sansovini.

During the conversation that followed the presentation ceremony, the heads of San Marino and the Lithuanian Ambassador positively evaluated the cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, affirmed the willingness of the institutions in Lithuania and San Marino to draw up bilateral agreements on tourism and on information exchange regarding taxes.

San Marino is the oldest Republic in Europe. The country is situated in the Apennine peninsula and is completely surrounded by Italy. Its size is 61 km2 with an estimated population of about 30 thousand. San Marino recognized Lithuania’s Independence in 1991. Lithuania and San Marino established diplomatic relations on 6 March 2003.
