LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR PRESENTED CREDENTIALS TO EMIR OF KUWAIT
On 5 June Lithuanian Ambassador Dainius G.Voveris presented credentials to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Ambassador D.G.Voveris extended cordial compliments of the President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus to the Emir of Kuwait.
The Emir of Kuwait expressed gratitude for Lithuania’s support during the Iraqi-Kuwait conflict in 1990 and assistance in coping with the aftermaths of the conflict – a group of Lithuanian doctors worked in Kuwait.
Lithuanian Ambassador marked that there are possibilities to strengthen bilateral relations in political and economic sphere and encourage cooperation in education, healthcare and other spheres. The Emir of Kuwait expressed belief that the relations between the countries would become closer.
Ambassador D.G.Voveris residing in Egypt is the first Lithuanian Ambassador to Kuwait.
Lithuania and Kuwait established diplomatic relations on 5 April 1994.
