LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR INVITES CHINESE STUDENTS AND PROFESSORS TO LEARN ABOUT LIFE AND CREATIVE WORK OF M.K.ČIURLIONIS
On 10 November at the Center for European Studies of the Beijing Foreign Studies University, Lithuanian Ambassador to China Lina Antanavičienė opened an exhibition dedicated to the 100th death anniversary of composer and artist Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. The Ambassador invited Chinese students and Professors to get acquainted with life and creative work of the prominent Lithuanian artist. According to L.Antanavičienė, the personality of M.K.Čiurlionis represents not only Lithuania, but also entire Europe.
The Lithuanian language is taught at the Beijing Foreign Studies University. Six students have been studying it for the second year already. This year, 26 students took the course of the Lithuanian language.This exhibition presents a good opportunity for the students of Lithuanian and other European languages to get acquainted with the Lithuanian culture, art and music.
Then exhibition dedicated to M.K.Čiurlionis in Beijing has been organized for the second time already. When the exhibition was organized for the first time, the public had a possibility to view it at the Peace Palace of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The exhibition was opened there in September on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations of Lithuania and China.
