On 12 October, Lithuanian Ambassador in Germany Evaldas Ignatavičius presented credentials to the country’s President Horst Köhler.
During the conversation, which took place after the official ceremony, the Lithuanian-German political, economic and cultural ties were positively evaluated and prospects of implementation of transport and energy infrastructure projects and relations with Russia were discussed.
The German President also took interest in situation in Lithuania after the general elections held last weekend.
The Ambassador presented compliments of the Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus to Germany’s Leader and thanked him for intensive support for Lithuania during the years of his work in international financial institutions.
