LITHUANIA TOGETHER WITH GEORGIA REMEMBERS THE VICTIMS OF FIGHTS FOR INDEPENDENCE

Lithuania expresses support and profound sympathy to Georgia, where the victims of fights for independence – peaceful protestors killed by Soviet troops near the Parliament of Georgia on 9 April 1989 were commemorated.
Lithuanian citizens understand the feelings of the people of Georgia, because after more than ten years the persons guilty of this tragedy or of the events of 13 January, or of Medininkai massacre have not yet been punished.
We hope that in the 21st century the justice will be done and the ones culpable of these tragedies will be punished.
