Lithuania protests to Belarus over a violation of its state border
On 6 June, a representative of the Embassy of Belarus was summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and handed a diplomatic note of strong protest over a violation of the state border of Lithuania near the Vilnius district from the Belarusian side detected on the evening of 4 June. The authorities of Belarus were requested to provide an explanation for this incident as soon as possible and to take all necessary measures to prevent the recurrence of similar events in the future.
As reported by the State Border Guard Service, on 4 June Lithuanian border guards from the Jurgis Kybartas Frontier Station observed three armed persons cross the national border from the Belarusian territory into the territory of Lithuania near the Vilnius district.
