Opinion polls of July proved that support for Lithuania's NATO membership remains unchanged. More than two out of three country's residents have a positive view of Lithuania's aspiration for NATO membership.
68.4 % of inhabitants approve of Lithuania's entry into NATO. 52.8 % are active supporters of NATO, while 15.6 % do not object to the country’s membership in the Alliance.
5.7 % of the polled are not interested in NATO integration and national security prospects, 26 % of respondents believe that Lithuania does not need NATO.
In May 68.1 % of respondents were in support of the country’s accession to NATO.
The representative survey of 1044 people on NATO integration was conducted by the Market and Public Opinion Research Centre Vilmorus as commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The poll drew respondents from inhabitants older than 18 of 18 urban and 56 rural locations.
