Lithuania organises discussion on regional gas market at Krynica Economic Forum

At the annual 24th Economic Forum on 3 September in Krynica, Poland, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania organised a discussion on prospects for creating a regional gas market.

The Lithuanian Ambassador Vytautas Naudužas moderated a session on the situation in the regional gas market, which is significantly influenced by geopolitical developments, including Russian aggression against Ukraine, and by a rapid implementation of regional strategic projects. Gas projects implemented by Lithuania, including Klaipėda LNG terminal that soon will start to operate, were presented during the session. Lithuania shared successful experience of implementing EU’s Third Energy Package that opens up new opportunities in the market, which are of the interest to most of regional partners.

The yearly Economic Forum in Krynica, also known as the “Eastern Davos”, brings together entrepreneurs and political leaders from Central and Eastern Europe. The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry is one of Forum’s organisational partners this year.
