LITHUANIA OFFERS FREE RESORT REHABILITATION TO THOSE INJURED IN MINSK SUBWAY BOMBING (BelaPAN, 13 April 2011)
Minsk, 13 April. Lithuania is ready to provide free resort rehabilitation to those injured in the terrorist bomb attack on Kastrychnitskaya subway station on Monday evening, Ambassador Edminas Bagdonas told reporters on Wednesday after laying flowers near an entrance into the station.
Lithuanian Health Minister Raimondas Sukys phoned his Belarusian counterpart, Vasil Zharko, on Tuesday and offered the services of the health resorts of Druskininkai and Palanga free of charge, Mr. Bagdonas said.According to Mr. Bagdonas, he visited a Minsk hospital on Tuesday morning to donate blood, but was told that he could not do that because he was a foreigner.
Speaking about the terrorist attack, Mr. Bagdonas said, "How can one evaluate this act of barbarism?" he said. "This is a horror. All Lithuania sympathizes with Belarus. We're waiting for the results of the investigation, we want to know who those beasts are. We're also hurting because the Belarusians are our brothers."
Representatives of the embassies of Israel and France, Uladzimir Harkun, first deputy chairman of the CIS Executive Committee, and a number of other diplomats laid flowers near the subway entrance.
