LITHUANIA MOURNS DEATH OF ITS FORMER PRESIDENT
Following the death of Lithuania’s former President, Lithuanian diplomatic missions abroad informed respective foreign authorities, Lithuanian Honorary Consuls, other organizations and the public about the death of Lithuania’s first President after the restoration of the country’s Independence Algirdas Brazauskas.
People can sign the Condolence Book at Lithuania’s foreign representations. Every diplomatic mission accepts condolences in compliance with the traditions of their host countries and the working hours of the embassies.
As a sign of mourning, the flag of the state is lowered to the half-mast position at Lithuania’s foreign representations Tuesday through Thursday. Lithuania’s foreign representations are cancelling all cultural and representational events on those days.
