Lithuania joins the Paris Declaration on Multilateral Action for Information Integrity and Independent Media
Lithuania has joined the Paris Declaration, fortifying multilateral action in support of information integrity and independent media.
The Declaration was adopted at the High-Level International Conference on Information Integrity and Independent Media (La Conférence internationale de haut niveau pour l’intégrité de l’information et les médias indépendants) held in Paris on 29-30 October. Lina Viltrakienė, Ambassador at Large for Digital and Tech Diplomacy at the External Economic Relations and Economic Security Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed Lithuania's active and consistent involvement in the global defense of media freedom.
The declaration highlights the importance of reliable, fact-based information for democracy and cooperation in the fight against disinformation and the promotion of free and independent media. The declaration was supported by more than 20 countries, including Lithuania.

The conference was part of the Paris Peace Forum, which brought together 500 speakers and 3,000 participants. One of the keynote speakers was the leader of the Belarusian democratic forces, Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya.
Another event of the Forum was the High-Level International Conference for Peace and Prosperity in the Great Lakes Region (Conférence de soutien à la paix et à la prospérité dans la région des Grands Lacs), chaired by French President Emmanuel Macron and Togolese Prime Minister Faure Gnassingbé. Lithuania was represented by Ambassador to France Arnoldas Pranckevičius.
