LITHUANIA JOINS EU DECLARATION IN COMMEMORATION OF SEPTEMBER 11 EVENTS

Lithuania aligned itself with the European Union's (EU) declaration, by which heads of state and government of the EU expressed their condolences to the families and friends of the victims of terrorist acts of September 11 and those who perished in the rescue effort. The declaration points out that “11 September reminded all of us that security and democracy can never be taken for granted but must be defended actively and ceaselessly.”
