Lithuania issued a note of protest to Russia over the attacks on Ukraine and the violation of Polish airspace
On 31 July, a representative of the Russian Embassy, summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was handed a strong note of protest over the ongoing attacks on Ukrainian civilians and the violation of Polish airspace.
On the night of 30 July, Russian military forces fired more than 70 missiles of various types. In addition, they launched nearly 300 combat drones, killing at least ten Ukrainian civilians (including four children) and wounding several dozen more. The shelling devastated not only single-family homes and apartment buildings, but also a school, two kindergartens, and other civilian facilities in various regions of Ukraine. In the village of Radušne (Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Ukraine), six members of a large family—both parents and four of their children—were killed, leaving the remaining six children orphaned. In expressing its protest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that international humanitarian law stipulates that civilians and civilian objects must not be targeted during international armed conflicts.
The note also strongly condemns the violation of Polish airspace by a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile during this attack, following which an explosion was recorded in the territory of the Lublin Voivodeship. Russia bears sole responsibility for this incident due to its ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which threatens the security of both Ukraine and its neighboring states and their populations.
