LITHUANIA HOPES TO RECEIVE THE SCHEDULE FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION OF PIPELINE "DRUZHBA" IN THE NEAREST FUTURE

On 21-22 February Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the regular consular consultations of ministries of foreign affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and the Russian Federation. The participants of the consultations discussed the consequences of the enactment of visa facilitation agreement between the EU and the Russian Federation concerning the residents of the Kaliningrad Region travelling to Lithuania.

Undersecretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Laimonas Talat‑Kelpša also welcomed the delegation of the Russian Federation. During the conversation important issues of cooperation between the Kaliningrad Region and Lithuania such as improvement of the border infrastructure, problems in crossing Russian border and the situation that arose due to the reconstruction of oil pipeline “Druzhba” were discussed.

Undersecretary of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Talat-Kelpša noted that Lithuania hoped to receive the schedule for the reconstruction of the pipeline “Druzhba" in the nearest future.
