LITHUANIA HANDS A NOTE TO BELARUSIAN EMBASSY PROTESTING A VIOLATION OF THE LITHUANIAN AIRSPACE

On 18 April, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed a note to the Embassy of Belarus in Lithuania protesting a violation of the Lithuanian airspace by a Belarusian military jet. The Embassy is requested to provide all available information about the violation of the Lithuanian airspace and to take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.

On 17 April at 1.05 p.m., the MIG-29 fighter jet from Belarus flew into the airspace of Lithuania near the Pogarenda village in Varėna district. The Belarusian military jet was flying over the Lithuanian airspace for about two minutes.
