LITHUANIA ESTABLISHED DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS WITH IRAQ
On 24 January Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Dalius Čekuolis exchanged diplomatic notes on establishment of diplomatic relations with Ambassador of Iraq Walid Hamid Shiltagh.
This is 147th state Lithuania has established diplomatic relations with.
“Lithuania and Iraq turn a new page in their history,” Ministry Undersecretary said stressing the importance of the event.
According to Mr Čekuolis this is one more democratic world’s sign of support for newly elected government of Iraq, the sign that expresses hope and faith in successful democracy and freedom establishment process in this country.
During his visit to Lithuania Iraqi Ambassador meets with Deputy Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of the Seimas Audronius Ažubalis, Defence Ministry Undersecretary Renatas Norkus, Ministry of Economy Undersecretary Alina Mačiulytė.
